1JFK)Here is an incredible collection of hand signed and annotated presidential memorabilia given by President Kennedy to his dear friend, bother in law, and fellow bon vivant Peter Lawford. Peter Lawford was married to President Kennedy's sister Patricia. They married on April 24, 1954 in New York City. Lawford then became a member of the extended Kennedy Family. Lawford and JFK became best friends early on. Lawford offered JFK an entree into the powerful Hollywood world of the beautiful people. JFK loved the heady life of that world, and the perks that came with it. He also garnered considerable financial and political support from the Hollywood crowd. JFK offered Lawford a seat at the table of the arguably most powerful man in the world. The relationship was a good one. Lawford campaigned constantly during all of JFK's political campaigns, doing all he could do to sway the Hollywood crowd into backing Kennedy. JFK, Lawford, Jacqueline Kennedy and Patricia Lawford were best friends, and constant companions. Jacqueline Kennedy remained very close to Lawford even after the assassination of JFK and subsequent divorce of Lawford and Patricia in 1966.

Included in this collection are many remarkable writings and comments from JFK to Lawford. Many of them are on books from JFK's private library. Many more are on books that JFK personally wrote. There are wonderful signed photos and pieces of inaugural memorabilia. Many of the comments give an extremely interesting insight into the real JFK, and his opinions of the men who helped shape his political manifestoes.

5JFK) President Kennedy was a long time sailor, served in the navy, and loved all things nautical. He had a wonderful collection of scrimshawed whales teeth and other nautical items. Jacqueline frequently sought out and purchased nautical items for the president. Available today is a magnificent, and one of a kind ship captains portable writing desk owned and used by President Kennedy. It was a gift to him, as president from Jacqueline. It is made of rare wood and is well over 100 years old. It opens to form a beautiful leather topped writing surface. There are both upper and lower storage space for various inks and writing accouterments. The box measures approximately 7" X 10" X 14", and is finished in beautiful wood burl. 13JFK) Here is one of the rarest items of Kennedy Presidential Memorabilia. It is a pair of 14K solid yellow gold cufflinks. They feature a beautifully detailed and die struck Presidential Seal on the front, and President Kennedy's full signature on the back. These are the rarest of the Presidential cufflinks. Very few sets were ever made. They were frequently worn by President Kennedy. He also gave them to very close personal friends and visiting Heads of State. The last sets that I saw sell sold in the $10.000.00 range, plus a 15% buyers premium. They were from a major Collection of JFK memorabilia. The auction was at the Guernsey Auction House in New York approximately two years ago. JFK Presidential Memorabilia continues to be very difficult to obtain, and the values keep escalating. These cufflinks and several other JFK items now on my auction came from a long time member of the White House Staff. This man was also a close personal friend of both President and Mrs. Kennedy. He frequently traveled with the President. He spend 32 years on the White House Staff . This pair is priced considerably less than the two pair that sold on auction.

27JFK) Here is an extraordinarily gruesome and macabre item from the FJK assassination era. I have no idea from whence it came, or what the history of it is. I will simply describe it and let you come to your own conclusions. It is a Sterling Silver Army Sharpshooters Badge. At the bottom of the badge are the letters CIA. There is a rifle rating badge suspended beneath the medal. At the top of the medal is a round disc with the bust of President Kennedy on one side. The name of the maker, Parker is on the end of the case. The case is approximately 32" long and 7" wide. It is made to carry the shotgun in two pieces, and is so compartmented. JFK's initials are on the case itself. The Parker Company, located in Meriden Connecticut was the maker of some of the finest shotguns in the world. It is a copy from my original 8 X 10" color photo of President Kennedy's casket being carried into the White House to Lie in State. Jacqueline Kennedy is pictured still wearing the blood spattered suit that she wore in Dallas. The President's brother, Robert Kennedy is pictured walking next to Mrs. Kennedy. 47JFK) Here is a magnificent and one of a kind personal item owned by JFK as President of the United States. It is a Chess Set that was given to him as a birthday gift in 1962. The set is absolutely magnificent. It is entirely made of rare wood, alligator, ivory, and ebony. The body of the set is made of rare wood. There are solid brass handles on each side of the body. The board is made of beautifully cut and fitted squares of brown and black alligator. The chess pieces are hand carved in an African motif. One set is made of ivory and one set is made of ebony. The pieces range in size from approximately 2 & 1/8" to 3 & 1/2". The detail work on both the board and the chess pieces is exquisite. There is an approximately 3" gold plated Presidential Seal inset in the side of the body. There is also an inlaid metal plate bearing the engraved signature of President Kennedy. The chess pieces are nested beneath the chess board. The chess board is removable to display the chess pieces. The entire level of chess pieces lifts out to reveal a hidden compartment beneath. The set displays old world craftsmanship of a caliber that is seldom seen today. It is in pristine condition. The set was given to President Kennedy by a life long friend and political supporter. The set was returned to the giver after the assassination of President Kennedy. There is an impeccable provenance. It is a letter from President Kennedy's personal secretary Evelyn Lincoln. The letter is on the late President's personal Presidential Seal stationery. It is dated two days after the President's death, and notes that the set is being sent back to the giver. The person who gave the set to President Kennedy was also a personal friend of Evelyn Lincoln. A copy of the letter is included in the listing. This set is a "must have" for the collector of rare items of JFK presidential memorabilia. It is a far rarer and finer item than other items I have seen sell for much more in recent auctions of JFK Presidential Memorabilia.

65JFK) Here is an absolutely stunning piece of art by the Artist Aldo Luongo. It depicts the Three Kennedy Brothers and the Hawk. The three Kennedy Brothers are beautifully depicted in the happy early days of the Kennedy Presidency. The Hawk represents the Artist's Father and appears in many of his works. The work is a Limited Edition Serigraph. It was done in 1984 and the Edition was completely sold out many years ago. This was a specially numbered rendering that was both signed by the artist and includes his hand written salutation and drawing of the Hawk. The Salutation reads "To Doc Foley with fond memories of your years in the Kennedy White House." The piece is numbered X/LXXV. The work is beautifully framed to archival standards and is ready to hang. The overall dimensions are approximately 40" x 45." This would make an incredible Holiday Gift for the Kennedy Collector. The Artist's Original Paintings now frequently sell for six figures.
